System Overview

Tolerance analysis undoubtedly is an important step in the design process. The main purpose of performing tolerance analysis is to predict the effect that the tolerances on individual parts will have on an assembly of these parts. In the analysis, original design data is initially used. Later on, various modifications driven by customers, vendors and internal design considerations can be fed back to the analysis to analyze their impacts. Inspection data, in addition, can be very useful in the analysis in order to: manage non-conforming parts, cut down manufacturing costs for non-critical tolerances, and close the gap between design and actual production to reduce time to market.

When tolerance stacks are created by various applications under different projects and repeatedly analyzed with different types of data, it can be very difficult to manage and update all these stacks and their related information. In addition, managing and updating is typically done manually and that tends to be time consuming and error prone.

system

Tolerance Analysis & Dimensional Management System is the solution to those problems. It is, in a way, a data management system implemented to standardize part design, inspection and tolerance analysis data and store all these information in a central data warehouse. As a result, the data can be accessed, managed, verified, analyzed and updated much easier, more reliably and very effectively.

The system is integrated with an Excel-based tolerance analysis application which is intuitive and easy to use. Since all data can be obtained automatically from the central data warehouse into excel, tolerance stacks can be created by this application quicker with minimum manual input. The application also contains advance analyses e.g. statistical analysis, sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis and it is capable of handling full GD&T requirements.
circle3TADM utilizes industry leading .Net application development framework.  Such framework lets it have the ability to communicate with other engineering and tolerance analysis applications that are under the same common framework. As such, Tolerance stacks or engineering drawings in other applications can be accessed and updated from within TADM System.
circle2Additionally, TADM comes with a complete suite of inspection data management. With that, First Article Inspection reports can be created, filled out, and imported back to the central data warehouse with ease. This data can then be used for tolerance analysis and for other design and quality engineering purposes.

TADM-System is a comprehensive solution for tolerance analysis and dimension engineering. Market Survey & comparative study

TADM system engineering team surveyed a sample engineering community. Based on this survey its clear that the Excel-based tolerance analysis is still a very popular way to perform such task. CAD-based tolerance analysis tools exist, but their use is limited. The TADM-System provides numerous advantages over an Excel-based tool and is also comparable to CAD-based tool on several fronts. The TADM-System includes features like “What-If Analysis” and “Calculated Parts” which are unique.
